How to Fix Sticky Notes fails to reopen in Windows 10

Sticky Notes offer one of the best ways to take notes on your Windows 10 desktop. It also provides a dedicated space to store all your reminders and important information. The app helps you stay organized.

Now if you’re signed in with your Microsoft account, you’ll be able to easily close and reopen your sticky notes in Windows 10, but sometimes you may run into issues. This is what you can do if the sticky notes do not reopen when they are accidentally closed. This helps if you are logged into your PC with a Microsoft account.

Fix Sticky Notes fails to reopen

If you’ve closed an open sticky note and want to reopen it, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Sticky Notes app and view your list of notes.
  2. If you notice that only one note appears when you open the application, click or tap the ellipsis icon () in the upper right corner of the note, then click or tap List of notes’.
  3. Scroll or find your note in the note list.
  4. To reopen a note, tap or double-click the note.
  5. Alternatively, you can also click or touch the ellipsis icon (…) then click or touch “Open note”.

Your list of sticky notes may have disappeared because the application was closed while only one note remained open.

  1. Therefore, when the application is opened again, you will only see the note that appears on your computer screen. Try the following tip to make your list of memos available.
  2. If only one note appears when you open the app, click or tap the ellipsis icon () in the upper-right corner of the note.
  3. Click or press “List of Notes”.
  4. Scroll or find your note in the note list.

It is important to mention here that you cannot currently keep Sticky Notes informed of other applications.

However, you can pin sticky notes to the Windows taskbar to make your note list instantly visible or quickly create a new note. To do this, when Sticky Notes is open, right-click its icon in the taskbar, then choose “Pin to taskbar”.

If the problem persists and you find that Sticky Notes has completely stopped working in Windows 10, see our previous article titled Sticky Notes crashes and has stopped working.
