Fix Windows 10 Not Playing Games In Full-Screen. Users have reported issues regarding Full-Screen Game Play and how they are unable to play games in Full-Screen mode on Windows 10. This is an unusual problem and normally we don’t hear issues regarding full-screen mode or gameplay.
Today we will try to solve this issue using multiple methods. Some users also have reported that the screen switches to the desktop home screen and the sound of the game is playing in the background. Due to this issue, some games are totally unable to play because these games are played in full-screen by default.
Here are a few solutions that you can try.
Solution 1: Windowed Mode
Check if your game comes with a configuration file, or if you can set the configuration before starting the game. If you can configure the game, then set it to run in Windowed Mode.
Steps for configuration
- Open the Configuration file.
- look for Gameplay mode.
- Set the mode to “Windowed Mode”
This is not the best solution, but it works and will allow you to play your favorite game again.
Disclaimer: To play multiple games you have to configure each game individually to run on Windowed Mode.
Solution 2: Set display scaling to 100%
Right-click on Windows Start Button and open the Settings. Click on System.
Click on Display, Here find Scale and Layout column. Select Change the size of text, apps, and other items and set it to 100%.
Many games won’t run properly unless the display scaling is set to 100%. You might need to restart your computer or log out and log in to apply the settings.
Solution 3: Changing your main screen
You can experience problems with fullscreen and games if you’re using a dual monitor setup. However, you can fix this problem simply by changing your display settings. Here is how you can change your main screen.
Right-click on your Desktop and choose Display settings from the menu.
When the Display settings window opens you should see the Multiple Display column. Here you will see Detect Button, Click on it.
Now in Display settings set the monitor with the same number (you got in the above step) as the main monitor. Save the changes and try running games in fullscreen.
Solution 4: Change Nvidia 3D settings
Open Nvidia Control Panel. Go to Manage 3D settings and find Global settings.
Change Preferred graphics processor to High-performance Nvidia processor. It is set at Auto-select by default. Click on Apply to save the changes.
Now try running games in fullscreen mode.
Solution 5: Change Nvidia Control Panel settings
If your Computer has both integrated and dedicated graphic then you might need to change few Nvidia Control Panel settings to fix this issue. Here is the method for fixing the issue.
Open Nvidia Control Panel. Go to Display look for Adjust desktop size and position.
Locate the scaling option and set it to No scaling and click on Apply to save changes.
After making these changes, you should be able to run games in full-screen without any problems.
As you can see, solving full-screen issues on Windows 10 is moderately simple, and we hope that you managed to solve this problem using one of our solutions. You may often experience issues while trying to run certain games in full-screen mode.
If you are still facing the same issue then wait for an update of Windows 10 or contact your service provider.
