Method 1: Changing media output devices
Right-click on the sound icon in the Notification area and open Playback devices.
Select the audio output device and set it as a default audio output device.
Right-click on the Digital Audio/Monitor/HDMI and select Disable.
Click OK and check your audio output device.
Once you have completed all of the mentioned steps then your issue should have been resolved.
Method 2: Rollback audio drivers
Right-click on the start menu, from this menu, look for Device Manager and open it.
Scroll down and look for Sound, Video, and Games Controllers. Right-click on Intel(R) Display Audio and open its properties.
Open the Driver Tab.
Click on the Roll Back Driver button.

Method 3: Reinstall audio drivers or Update them
Open the Device Manager again and Right-click on Intel(R) Display Audio and open its properties and open the driver tab.
Click Uninstall Drivers.
When the Warning window appears click Uninstall.
Now all of Sound Drivers are Uninstalled now you can reinstall all the drivers.
To download the latest driver you need to visit your motherboard or sound card manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver for your device. Once you have downloaded all the drivers you need you can easily Update Drivers.
After installing the drivers then restart your PC or Laptop so the installed drivers can start working properly.
Reinstall GPU drivers
If the previous method did not work then you can reinstall all the drivers of the NIVIDA graphic processor. You can find the driver’s DVD in the box of your NIVIDA graphic card. If there is no DVD available then you can download the drivers from the website of the NIVIDA sound card manufacturer.

Enable onboard sound device in BIOS
- Restart your PC and press delete continuously until the BIOS Settings are shown.
- This may differ from configuration to configuration and it depends on your motherboard.
- Look for Onboard Sound Device and switch it to ON instead of Auto.
- Save changes and exit BIOS.
- You should hear the startup sound of your PC.
